After all this time is Atomic Web Katz Website Development still going strong? Absolutely :)

Atomic Web Kathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16186651014600923662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-717280991688325479.post-48647012178625881882010-11-25T11:39:00.006-06:002010-11-25T12:03:48.399-06:00ThanksgivingOh it's been 10 months, too long, since I blogged. I get busy blogging for others, then run out of steam for my own work, or run out of ideas! As it has been ten months, let's do a "I did this" blog, then Thanksgiving...>

I worked. I had some business but nothing like I have had for the past 15 years. The economy has not picked up for very small businesses for sure. I've had a few new clients but most say "We have no money for a web site, or for updates." Fortunately I had and at this time still have, my part time job with Leapforce. Working online from home, that's a blessing for which I am Very Thankful.

Renato worked. Yep, the husband now has a job, since August, driver and companion to a gentleman who lives on the northwest side of Ft Worth. Most weeks it's five days, occasionally four days. Great perks such as great seats at the NASCAR race up at Texas Motor Speedway in early November which included a private helicopter to and from the track. So even with the downturn in my business I'm not running in circles screaming and crying trying to figure out what to do Without to pay the bills and the house payment. I am Very thankful for that blessing.

The cats played. I know where a good portion of the money goes: cat food. Sadly we lost Crush in June (another reason Renato will Never have a birthday in June again). Crush was playing hard, then laid down and died. Vet did an autopsy (another word for it er..necrosomething can't spell it though) and found that Crush died of an aneurysm in his brain. I always said that cat had headaches, guess I was right.

The new kitten arrived. Well sort of...last week Renato blew into the house and said, "Come look at this kitten its front legs are broken." Ack! Dashed out and there was a wee thing sitting in the bird seed. It dashed to the storage shed, moving pretty fast for broken legs! They aren't broken, this boy is a "squitten" or "twisty cat" with the congential deformity known as Radial Hypoplasia (RH). This picture only shows one front leg but the other matches it. He walks on the entire front er forearm. You have to be careful if you're holding him then sit him down as he falls on his face, though he pops right back up. He is just the sweetest, most loving kitten!

And has now been vetted. We though he, as he was so small he was about 2 months old, but no, he's 4 months, but only weighs 3.5 pounds. Further, his breast bone is slightly deformed, it's pointed and sticks out further than it should, and finally the bottom most joint on his tail is enlarged and disjointed.

When he plays too hard he pants and makes a clicking sound, same clicking sound when he purrs loudly. At first I thought "What's wrong with the furnace? Sounds like its trying to click on?! Or the hot water heater?" Both are just down the hall. After a day of getting up and checking here there and yon I realized it was coming from this baby! Oh his temp name is Capt. Jack Sparrow. Of course. Gotta be a pirate in this house! Though I think "Danny Ocean" would be pretty good as well.

And finally: I'm grateful for so many things including family and friends - old friends and new friends alike. And one of our oldest friends Jeff Carroll is spending the holiday in hospital in Bryan, TX. He has had a heart attack and now is being scanned, rescanned, tested, treated, poked and probed. Many hugs to you Uncle Jeff, I love you dearly and hope you are home soon.Atomic Web Kathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16186651014600923662noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-717280991688325479.post-42437411419890197602009-12-06T11:17:00.002-06:002017-08-31T12:00:43.577-05:00If you need a Disneyland fix...as I usually do, here's the Live webcam from Howard Johnson.
I wanted to give it at least this long 'cause you know how kitties are: First couple of days it's the best thing since sliced fish, then...you can't pay them in enough cat nip to use something, play with something, eat some fancy expensive food (yea, the organic cat food from Krogers at 99 cents a can, you would think I poured vegamite over it *sigh* Nice cans though and the neighbor's cat Loved It).

Here's the results for the month...>nine out of ten cats in this house Love The Worlds Best Cat Litter. Hoooray! We like it too, what a relief to get away from so much dust, even the best litter is dusty, but boy howdy not this litter.

We have a deaf kitty who is very shy, goes by the name Mr. Breezie, though she is a she. Due to a number of reasons, all of them her's, we have a custom made litter box in on corner of our living room. By custom made I mean we made it from a nice big Rubber Maid storage box, which came with a lid. We cut a hole in one end and it's perfect and she loves it. Pop the lid on it and I love it cause I cover it with an old Piratey looking blanket so it matches our Pirate Corner decor. You can't tell what it is...and with The Worlds Best Cat Litter no one will Smell what it is, and Whooopeee! no more dust on the Pirate Booty!

So you're thinking, "Yea you aren't gonna tell us about that 'tenth' cat are you?" Yes I am VBG The tenth of ten did have an issue, a slight issue at first with The Worlds Best Cat Litter. Our fault really, we know we know we know you should always introduce new litter and new food slowly. However, we didn't because we are a mulit-cat household and a multi-box household. We started with two out of six boxes...>remember we make our own litter boxes and each one equals at Least two standard sized boxes, and two are so Large they even equal three standard boxes. And we scoop at least twice a day. So...think of it as 11 litter boxes.

And Hillary, we now know, only uses one of the litter boxes in the house, one of two used as a test box. Hillary, who is a he, and this is a "he" name btw he's named after the Butler in the Tomb Raider movies, Hillary didn't care for it, we don't know why, and we should have introduced it slowly I suppose. Be that as it may, Hillary let us know in no uncertain terms he was opposed to such a sudden change.

One month later he still doesn't care for it, but we have reservered "his" box with the old product and we are still slowly but surely switching him over.

I stand by the product and we will keep using it. Old cats can learn new ways and patience is the key of course. I sincerely hope that anyone who reads this will try it and more so I hope anyone reading this and still won't have a litter box in the house will try The World's Best Cat Litter. You will find it's almost perfect, you can keep kitty inside and avoid any and all outside dangers. And if you think there are none out there, read my old poem..."We Buried Your Cat Today."

I'll update how Hillary is doing very soon!Atomic Web Kathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16186651014600923662noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-717280991688325479.post-70559504157014827132009-09-28T10:48:00.004-05:002009-09-28T10:53:11.918-05:00Blind Cat Rescue...always happy tears...when I watch the videos, see the pictures of these happy kitties. Facebook.

Thanks to Facebook I have a dander free pet in Pet Society which I've actually spent $9.95 of Real money to buy "coins" can you read "fake money" to which I have purchased for my Pet, named after my heart cat: Tik Tok: A white potty, a white bathtub, curtains, clothes, a fridge, a tiara, wallpapers galore, and flooring too. Ooo and those Mystery Boxes!! Every day I visit her friends, which now number 32, and each visit earns us 5 coins. She has a lovely pink heart-shaped bar of soap and she must be washed daily, or house flies begin to follow her around. She eats apples and strawberries but cheese cake (at 60 coins a pop) is her favorite.

Next on the time killer list at Facebook: Pirates - Rule The Caribbean!

And my sweet pet dons her eyepatch and becomes Capt Tik Tok, dreaded swashbuckler. With work and patience she now earns over 10000 gold coins An Hour. I should do so well. She owns ships, hidden coves, a Voodoo Hut too. Rifles, and daggers, and two hand grenades, oh and a green parrot. She has a crew of 7 now.

Next...>Fish Wrangler!

I actually donated $1 to buy "Red Love Chum" to use in this months Tuna Tournament, where one can actually win a $20 gift card to Amazon. I teamed up with friends to nighfish so it's sort of Fishing on autopilot as I don't have to be online.

And two days ago I was invited to play Farm Town, and now I have a wee yellow chick following me around my plowed and seeded potato and rice plots.

And you wonder why I haven't been to my blog ;0)

Belong to Facebook and want to be friends? Leave a comment with your email and I'll give you my address there. Then I'll delete your email addy from the comment ;0)Atomic Web Kathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16186651014600923662noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-717280991688325479.post-12612697052996396992009-02-03T18:21:00.002-06:002009-02-03T20:06:43.955-06:0025 notes about myself..msgI have a Facebook account now and recently was "tagged" to do 25 notes about myself. Here they are:

The original title was "25 Dizzy Notes About Myself"...>

1. I say dizzy because this afternoon, about 3 pm I become so dizzy I couldn't sit in this chair. After lying down for almost two hours I am still whooozy in the head. I have no idea why. That being said....>

2. I was born, and spent most of my early days in Arizona. I always considered Prescott my home. I spent years trying to figure out a way to make a living in Prescott and move back. Last time I was there it has changed to so very much that the word "home" will never dovetail with the name "Prescott" again.

3. I remember in 1970 when I begged my folks to buy a two story building which included a bakery and gift shop on a main highway in Sedona, AZ. It was less than $100k. and that included the land. My Dad said that "Hell no one would want to live in Sedona who wasn't growin' apples." They never listened to me.

4. My family use to own a ranch on the west side of Phoenix, AZ, about where Sky Harbor Intl Airport now sits.

5. On a ranch in Texas, in 1959, I picked up a rock and asked my Mom: "How did a sea shell get here?"
She said it was during the Great Flood in the Bible. My interest in fossils started that day, though it was years before I knew that sea shell was indeed a fossil.

6. I worked in the oil patch in the late '70s through the mid 80's. Recently an friend from those years found me by "googling" my name and emailing me through one of my web sites. Nice to be remembered ;0) We chat once a week now. 25 years later...and it's just like we never went our separate ways.

7. As you may know, my spelling is not very good. We moved a lot when I was a kid. I went to three different schools in the second grade, and the third grade too. Two different schools for the fourth grade. Every school taught differently, and were at different places in different school books. We moved to Carleton, TX, for six months in '59 (see number 5 above) to help some old friend of my Dad's. I got in trouble in school for not using "a final T" in my beginning cursive lessons = What the hell was a final T?? I finally learned btw. That same teacher accused me of wearing makeup. I was in the second grade. The school was so small it had two grades per room.

8. I hated school except when lived outside of Lebanon, Oregon for a few months. I started the 4th grade in some rural school and I loved the teacher and everything about it. I have always felt that had we have stayed there I might have been able to learn and not be frightened of being behind all the time. We had to move back to AZ, my sister had asthma and couldn't breath most of the time.

9. When I was in the first grade we had drills for the possibility of an atomic bomb being dropped by Russia then known as The Soviet Union. We were taught to "drop and cover" by crawling under our school desks. This was the start of the Cold War. We were even put on buses and taken out into the desert for drills. I was so frightened that I'd never see my Mother again I truly think I was emotionally scared for most of my life. I was always terrified I'd never be able to find her. When I moved into this house, after she died, and going through old papers, I found a memographed sheet of instructions from the school detailing this was a real possibility and that the school would take care of us. There was no monster under my bed, it was sitting in Moscow, preparing to wipe America off the face of the earth.

10. I love the music from "Soring Over California" - the ride at Disneyland. Love the ride, love the music.

11. I enjoy this time of the year, it's very cool to cold at night, but days are in the 60's.

12. I would like to visit Scotland one more time, London too.

13. I've enjoyed how the world has changed to much with the internet. The Elephant's Child can be fed 24 hours a day.

14. If I could have a new career I would like to be a historian, esp anything to do with early California and the gold rush.

15. I regret I didn't join the Navy after college.

16. I am so blessed to have met and married my husband aka Mr. Calm

17. I don't read books as often as I use too.

18. I would love to start swimming again.

19. My husband and I once helped breakup a cock fight ring by going under cover.

20. I want to be cremated with at least a pound of uncooked bacon in my casket. I want my body to float to the next life with my favorite food.

21. Speaking of which, in my next life I want to sing like Topol and look like Antonio Banderas - well maybe a bit taller.

22. The best Sherlock Holmes ever is/was the late Jeremy Brett.

23. My favorite movie is Last Of The Mohicans with Daniel Day Lewis..or maybe any of The Pirates Of The Caribbean movies with Johnny Depp.

24 My living room has two black walls, decorates with everything collectible about Pirates we already owned or could build. And lots of fake coins and jewelry. Even a snake hanging from a branch in the ceiling. All we are missing is Tia Dalma.

25. I practice being calm every day.Atomic Web Kathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16186651014600923662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-717280991688325479.post-52512743631493523122009-01-16T16:41:00.001-06:002009-01-16T16:43:04.950-06:00For years I've asked that when I die that ..msga pound of bacon be placed in the box with me before I'm cremated.
